There has been numerous amazing :got rid of cancer" or "cancer free"  after taking or consuming bitter almonds everyday. In natural history of man, nature provided many ways to heal and get rid of waste products but food industry blinded people and many physicians in past and some now ignite that fire towards food processing company like- eat meat everyday, protein can only be received from meat, eggs, animal origin , and food industry made animals a just eating material. Was that supposed to be .No Animals are before humans and they have equal right to live but let me not to go there , and be limited to this post's heading.
The apricot pits contain a compound called glycosides which are a combination of sugar and cyanide called "Amygdalin" have been used successfully around the world for the reversal of many types of cancer. The Hunza tribes in the Himalayans are virtually cancer free, because of their daily consumption of apricot pits and millet, both of which contain amygdalin.

What takes place here is what we call selective toxicity. Cancer cells needs sugar to survive and grow. A specific enzyme that is produced in large quantities by cancer cells, triggers the sugar break down that releases the cyanide. The cyanide is what kills the cancer cells.

Healthycells not affected by the cyanide because of enzyme called rhodanese, which makes the cyanide harmless. How's that for another amazing healing miracle?
Amygdalin also inhibits angiogenesis, which is  the formation of new blood flow as the cancer cells to grow. Hampering blood flow to the tumor is makes cancer cells die.

Amygdalin also suppresses inflammatory responses which lead to multiple diseases, including cancer.

Specific studies have shown how amygdalin induces apoptosis or cell death in prostate cancer cells, human colon cancer cells and in leukemia cells.

Amygdalin even inhibits the growth of the Epstein-Barr virus, which often induces tumor growth. The anti-tumor promoting activity of amygdalin and other compounds was studied in both in vitro and in vivo assays.

While administered specifically for cancer treatment, a wonderful side effect is that amygdalin actually helps relieve the pain that is often associated with aggressive cancers.

Abstract:
AIM: The genes were divided into seven categories according to biological function; apoptosis-related, immune response-related, signal transduction-related, cell cycle-related, cell growth-related, stress response-related and transcription-related genes. METHODS: We compared the gene expression profiles of SNU-C4 cells between amygdalin-treated (5 mg/mL, 24 h) and non-treated groups using cDNA microarray analysis. We selected genes downregulated in cDNA microarray and investigated mRNA levels of the genes by RT-PCR. RESULTS: Microarray showed that amygdalin downregulated especially genes belonging to cell cycle category: exonuclease 1 (EXO1), ATP-binding cassette, sub-family F, member 2 (ABCF2), MRE11 meiotic recombination 11 homolog A (MRE11A), topoisomerase (DNA) I (TOP1), and FK506 binding protein 12-rapamycin-associated protein 1 (FRAP1). RT-PCR analysis revealed that mRNA levels of these genes were also decreased by amygdalin treatment in SNU-C4 human colon cancer cells. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that amygdalin have an anticancer effect via downregulation of cell cycle-related genes in SNU-C4 human colon cancer cells, and might be used for therapeutic anticancer drug.

Quercetin inhibit human SW480 colon cancer growth in association with inhibition of cyclin D1 and survivin expression through Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway.

CONCLUSION:

The results indicate that the molecular mechanism underlying the antitumor effect of quercetin in SW480 colon cancer cells is related to the inhibition of expression of cyclin D(1) and survivin as well as the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway. Therefore, the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway could be qualified as one of the promising targets for innovative treatment strategies of colorectal cancer.
