SOME OF DAILY FOODS COULD CAUSE CANCER

Cancer is one of the leading causes of deaths worldwide, claiming millions of lives every year. It is estimated that more than 8 million died of cancer in 2012 alone – and it’s not going to get better. The number of people diagnosed with this fatal disease is expected to rise by 70 percent in the next 20 years.

Non-organic produce

Eating fruits and vegetables is highly encouraged by nutritionists because of their cancer-fighting ingredients which include vitamins, minerals, polyphenols, and antioxidants. What they forget to mention is how you should be careful NOT TO BUY non-organic, meaning they were grown witch chemical fertilizers and treated with toxic pesticides. It maximize your cancer risk.
Nitrogen, atrazine, thiodicarb, and organophosphates are some of the harmful components of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Studies show that they contaminate fruits and vegetables by either sticking on their surface or leeching into them. According to a survey conducted by the Environmental Working Group (EWG), about 98 percent of sold produce is contaminated with cancer-causing fertilizers and pesticides, with apples as the biggest offender. Other fruits that had increased levels of pesticides include grapes, strawberries, and oranges

 Potato snacks

French fries and potato chips increases trans fats. Recent studies show they may contain acrylamide, a chemical with industrial applications and a known carcinogen.
The National Cancer Institute states that food is one of the top sources of acrylamide that both the World Health Organization and United Nations consider it a “major concern”. Acrylamide is often produced when food is exposed to high-temperature cooking methods such as baking, frying, and broiling. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) adds that cooking French fries to a crisp increases their acrylamide content.

Microwave popcorn

Too bad it causes cancer. The bags used to contain microwave popcorn are lined with a carcinogen known as perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) which is linked to an increased risk for various cancers affecting the liver, pancreas, kidneys, bladder, and testicles. Its buttery smell is NOT BUTTER but  diacetyl. Factory workers exposed to diacetyl have been found to develop bronchiolitis obliterans or “popcorn lung”.

Farmed Salmon

Farmed salmon live off an unnatural diet contaminated with carcinogens. They are fed chemicals to make their meat turn into a reddish pink color similar to that of wild salmon. A scientific study suggests they contain too many pollutants that it is only safe to eat them three times each year. 14 toxins including dioxins, toxaphene, PCBs, and dieldrin were found to be significantly higher in farmed salmon than wild salmon. And it just so happens that these chemicals cause cancer.

Canned tomatoes

Canned tomatoes, like all canned goods, are lined with bisphenol-A (BPA). BPA is the same toxic component found in plastic bottles. Exposure to bisphenol-A disrupts the hormones and maximizes a person’s risk for breast cancer and prostate cancer. Because tomatoes are highly acidic, they tend to contain higher amounts of BPA compared to most canned goods – the acidity causes the carcinogenic compound to leech into the contents.

Processed meats

Bacon, sliced ham, hotdog, salami, bologna, meat loaf, and sausage, for a lot of people, they are part of their everyday lives .Processed meats are loaded with preservatives such as sodium nitrate to extend their shelf life, as well as chemicals to keep them looking fresh. scientists say, are carcinogenic and have been known to increase a person’s risk for colorectal cancer in several studies. Nitrates, when ingested, turn into N-nitroso, a cancer-causing chemical compound. Smoked meats pose the highest risk for cancer because when they are cooked at high heat, the nitrates are converted to nitrites which are more dangerous.

Refined grains

Refined grains pose even greater threat to your health because they contain chlorine gas, a toxic chemical which mills used to bleach the flour. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) considers chlorine gas as unsafe for human consumption.

Soda
Soda are full of artificial sweeteners like aspartame,is also a known carcinogenic. One study has shown that it can increase your risk for developing cancerous tumors in the brain. A more recent scientific investigation of 125,000 people revealed a link between soda intake and increased risk for leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma in men – all variants of cancer
Besides artificial sugar, soda also contains chemicals and food coloring that can maximize your cancer risk. Its caramel color, derived from 4-methylimidazole (4-MI), is thought to be a cancer-causing agent.

Red meats
The World Cancer Research Fund and American Institute for Cancer Research have found that people whose diets consisted mainly of red meats were more likely to develop pancreatic, stomach, lung, esophageal, breast, and endometrial cancers.
Photo by: BigstockphotoThe way red meat is cooked influences its cancer-causing effects. When exposed to high temperatures such as in charring, it creates heterocyclic amines (HCAs) – 17 of which are carcinogenic.  saturated fats which can increase your risk for breast and colon cancer. A more recent study published in Discover Magazine suggests that red meat contains Neu5Gc, a sugar molecule that speeds up the development of cancer.

 Alcohol

Alcohol causes cancer by damaging healthy cells in the body and replacing them with cancerous cells. It also breaks down into carcinogenic chemicals when digested. In women, it alters the hormones in a way that raises their stakes for breast cancer. Both heavy drinking and long-term alcohol consumption have been linked to various types of cancer including colorectal, pancreatic, and liver cancer.

CANCER CAUSING FOODS WE EAT EVERYDAY-DO NOT#CANCEROUSFOODS

microwave popcornWith ~1.5 million people diagnosed with some type of cancer everyyear, it’s time to look before you buy-

1. Microwave Popcorn-Proved by Wikipedia, conventional microwave popcorn bags are lined with a chemical called perfluorooctanoic acid ( PFOA). This is a toxin you can find in Teflon also. According to a recent study at the University of California, PFOA is linked to infertility in women. Numerous studies in lab animals and humans show that exposure to PFOA significantly increases the risk of kidney, bladder, liver, pancreas and testicular cancers. You can read more about this substance and the above mentioned studies at cancer.org.

They used to contain diacetyl. Use of this chemical caused Conagra Foods to remove it from their brand of popcorn, ACT, because it was causing lung diseases in the workers at their factory.

2. Non-organic fruits

non organic fruitNon organic Fruits contain  pesticides such as atrazine, thiodicarb, and organophosphates, as well as high nitrogen fertilizers.
Atrazine is banned in European countries but still used here. This is a weed killer that causes severe problems in humans, especially in our reproductive capabilities.
A 2009 study found that when pregnant women drank water contaminated with atrazine, their babies had reduced body weights.Conventional foods  Apples oranges, strawberries, and grapes are probably the worst offenders with pesticides showing on more than 90 per cent positive pesticide residue.Washing fruit does not remove 100 per cent of the residue. Pesticides are toxic chemicals to insects as well as human beings.

3. Canned Tomatoes

canned tomatoThe lining of almost all canned foods are made with a chemical called bisphenol-A, or BPA.
A study published in May of 2013 by the Proceeding of the National Academy of Sciences -BPA affects working of genes  inside the brain of rats.Remember lax FDA is concerned! but not banned it.

4 Foam cups contain styrene  'human carcinogen'

But industry experts say regulatory agencies have deemed polystyrene safe for use in contact with food and drink'I think it's important to keep in mind that this is a hazard assessment,' Dr Jane Henney, who chaired the research council's committee of experts, told Newsday.
The declaration means there is 'scientific evidence suggesting that styrene causes cancer, but there may be alternative explanations, such as chance, bias or confounding factors', explained Dr Henney, who led the U.S. Food and Drug Administration during the Clinton era.

processed meatsIncludes hot dogs, bacon, most lunch meats like bologna or pimento loaf. They contain sodium nitrite
which make them, look appealing and fresh but are carcinogens. Do not eat Smoking meats as it give you tar that from the smoking process.

6. Farmed Salmon-

farmed salmon 60% These fish are fed unnatural diets and are contaminated with chemicals, antibiotics, pesticides, and other known carcinogens. They live in very crowded conditions which results in these fish having 30 times the number of sea lice than wild salmon. Also contains PCB’s, mercury, and cancer causing dioxins.

7 Potato Chips-

If potaotes are  superheated, it contains acrylamide, a known carcinogen that is also found in cigarettes.Alternative- USED BAKED CHIPS.

8.SMOKED FOODS-

Foods that are cured by use of nitrates or nitrites act as preservatives as well as adding color to the meat. Although nitrates do not cause cancer in and of themselves, under certain conditions these chemicals change once they are inside the body into N-nitroso composites. It’s this N-nitroso that is associated with a greater increase the risk of developing cancers.Avoid- Meats such as bacon, sausage, bologna, and salami .

9.Processed Flour -

Are bleached by Chlorine so you really needs to avoid all breads .USE RICE.

10. GMO'S-

Study by Dr. Pusztai at the Rowett Institute in Scotland, where rats were fed GMO foods, especially potatoes. ALL rats showed damaged immune systems, pre-cancerous cell growths, along with smaller brains and livers, in just the first 10 days of the project.
The FDA has NO testing procedures for GMO foods. The only human study ever published showed that those foreign genes that are present in GM food transfer to the DNA in the bacteria in our digestive systems.Unfortunately, almost all grains, including soybeans, wheat, and corn, have been grown via GMO’s. USE RICE.
GMO’s do not have to be listed on food labels, so read carefully and look for labels that state the food is GMO free.
11. Artificial Sweatners
There are numerous studies that show people who consume artificial sweeteners on a regular basis, such as in sodas, or coffee sweeteners, actually gain weight and make you diabetic. There is mounting evidence that the chemicals that make up these sweeteners, especially aspartame, break down in the body into a deadly toxin called DKP. When your stomach processes this chemical, it in turn produces chemicals that can cause cancer, especially brain tumors. LINK
STOP ALL FOODS ATHT SAYS-DIET FOOD,artificial sugar.DO NOT USE LOW FAT dressing also.
12. Excessive alcohol-
alcoholAlcohol use is the second leading cause of cancer, right behind tobacco use. While a moderate or low consumption of alcohol can be healthy and lead to a reduced risk of heart disease, excessive drinking is known to cause heart failure, stroke, and sudden death. In 2007, experts working for the World Health Organizations International Agency for Research on Cancer  found  evidence to state that excessive alcohol use is the main cause of mouth, esophagus, liver, colon, mouth, rectum, and female breast cancers.

13 Red Meat-

In a study done over a 10 year period, eating red meat every day, even a small amount, such as that quarter pound hamburger you like to enjoy at lunch, increased a man’s risk of dying from cancer by 22 percent and a woman’s chance by 20 percent. A separate research study has shown that eating a lot of red meat increased the risk of breast, prostate, and colon cancer.
red meatRed meat seems particularly dangerous when talking about colon cancer. A study done in the US followed almost 150,000 people between the ages of 50 and 74. This study showed that the long term consumption of red meat significantly increased the amount of colon cancer found in the subjects studied. On the other hand, the long term consumption of fish and poultry appeared to be protective in nature.

14.SODA/DIET SODA-

Sodas also contain artificial colorings and food chemicals like derivative 4-methylimidazole (4-MI) LINK  click here.

ALCOHOL IS CANCER,CARCINOGEN .STOP IF YOUR DOCTOR TELL YOU NOT TO

World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).
Declared a carcinogen by the IARC in 1988,[2] alcohol is causally related to several cancers. "We have known for a long time that alcohol causes esophageal cancer, says Jürgen Rehm, PhD, WCR contributor on alcohol consumption, and Senior Scientist at the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, "but the relationship with other tumors, such as breast cancer, has come to our attention only in the past 10-15 years.

The Risk Is Dose-Dependent

The more alcohol that a person drinks, the higher the risk. The alcohol/cancer link has been strengthened by the finding of a dose/response relationship between alcohol consumption and certain cancers. A causal relationship exists between alcohol consumption and cancers of the mouth, pharynx, larynx, esophagus, colon-rectum, liver, and female breast; a significant relationship also exists between alcohol consumption and pancreatic cancer.[1]
Links have also been made between alcohol consumption and leukemia; multiple myeloma; and cancers of the cervix, vulva, vagina, and skin, but fewer studies have looked at these relationships and more research is needed to establish a confirmed association.[1] For bladder, lung, and stomach cancers, the evidence for an alcohol-cancer link is conflicting.

How Solid Are These Data?

"For the cancers that have been identified as being causally linked with alcohol, we are absolutely certain that alcohol causes these cancers," says Dr. Rehm. "About a few cancers, such as pancreatic cancer, we are not yet certain," he says. "We believe that we have good evidence showing that alcohol can cause pancreatic cancer, but we would not go so far as we would for esophageal cancer or breast cancer. And for renal cancer, the IARC has said that there are indications that there may be an effect, but we don't have the same level of evidence that we have for cancers that are clearly detrimentally linked to alcohol."
But surely, light drinking doesn't cause or contribute to cancer? Apparently, it does. In a meta-analysis of 222 studies comprising 92,000 light drinkers and 60,000 nondrinkers with cancer, light drinking was associated with risk for oropharyngeal cancer, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, and female breast cancer.[3] From this meta-analysis, it was estimated that in 2004 worldwide, 5000 deaths from oropharyngeal cancer, 24,000 from esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, and 5000 from breast cancer were attributable to light drinking. Light drinking was not associated with cancer of the colon-rectum, liver, or larynx.
